In the 19th century, America had what was called the Wild West, better known as Cowboy Country. This area included modern-day Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, and other parts of what we now call the mid-west. Back then, cowboys roamed the land wearing a unique style of clothing as they herded cattle, mended fences, and cared for horses.
Then and Now
These cowboys shaped the culture of the mid-west, and their style remains a key feature throughout the area. The clothing of their time is what inspired today’s Texas country-clothing. Country-clothing and the country-lifestyle are genuinely American and remnants of its rich history. Folks throughout America have kept this alive through their clothing for years.
